Buddy knows your holidays — and knows what to post
7 June 2026
No other scheduling tool automatically knows when Mother's Day falls or that Black Friday is coming. Buddy does. And he creates the content for it.
How many business owners forget Mother's Day until two days before? Too many. And that's a shame — for most local businesses, those handful of seasonal moments each year are exactly where the real revenue is.
Yet there's no scheduling tool that automatically alerts you to what's coming up. PostFlow, Buffer, Later, Hootsuite — at best they all have "calendar notes" where you type in "Mother's Day" on the right date yourself. Forget it = blank.
Promobuddy does it differently. Buddy knows which holidays are coming up, understands the difference between Belgian and Dutch Mother's Day, and automatically suggests creating content for them.
How does it work?
Every time you open a monthly calendar, Buddy automatically sees:
- Public holidays for your country (Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Germany or Luxembourg) — Easter, Ascension Day, Whitsun, All Saints' Day, Christmas. Moveable dates are calculated correctly each year.
- Commercial days that matter for SMBs — Mother's Day, Father's Day, Valentine's Day, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Halloween, St. Nicholas and Singles' Day. We even distinguish Belgian Father's Day (second Sunday in June) from Dutch Father's Day (third Sunday in June).
- Your own events — open days, product launches, seasonal campaigns that you add yourself from the calendar.
On your dashboard you also get a Buddy card as soon as something relevant is coming up within 14 days: "Mother's Day is in 5 days. Would you like me to prepare 3 posts?"
Why doesn't anyone else do this?
Because most scheduling tools are tools — not AI assistants. They schedule what you give them. They don't think of anything themselves.
Promobuddy is built around one principle: you don't have time to think about what to post. Buddy does that for you. So Buddy needs to know when something becomes relevant — and that starts with the calendar of the country where your business is located.
Multi-country for those who work across borders
Do you run a Belgian bakery with lots of Dutch weekend customers? Toggle "Netherlands" on as an additional country in your business profile and you'll automatically get King's Day and Liberation Day on your calendar too. The same applies to French border businesses or German webshops.
In practice: one click in your business profile under "Calendar → Holiday settings" and your entire calendar follows suit.
It's all ready to go
The holidays feature is live in every Promobuddy account, including free ones. Open your calendar in month view and you'll immediately see the event bars at the top of each week. You can add your own events using the "+" button next to each date.
One thing we're still going to do: have Buddy generate what you want to say for Mother's Day, in your brand style. That's the next step.
