Image dimensions for social media

All exact pixel dimensions for IG, FB, LinkedIn, TikTok, X, Pinterest and YouTube. Click to copy.

What does this cheatsheet do?

All current dimensions for seven platforms on one page: feed posts, Stories and Reels, profile pictures, covers and banners. Filter by platform, click a card and the pixel values are on your clipboard — ready to paste into Canva, Photoshop or another design tool. The ratio (such as 4:5 or 9:16) is always shown alongside, so you can also work in tools that calculate with ratios.

Why the right dimensions matter

A wrong format means the platform crops or squeezes your image — and that is exactly when your logo or text disappears. The most important rules of thumb: for feed posts on Instagram, prefer portrait (1080 × 1350), which fills more screen space than a square. Always design Stories and Reels at 1080 × 1920, but keep the top and bottom 250 pixels free of text — the interface buttons sit on top of those. And with covers and banners, watch the difference between desktop and mobile: a Facebook cover that looks perfect on your laptop gets cut off on both sides on a phone. Make one base image per ratio and reuse it across platforms with the same ratio.

Never scale and crop by hand again

Correct dimensions are the technical side; having a good image is the other half.
